Women Power in Comics (WOMCOM) invites you to its forthcoming exhibition in Ljubljana during the Tinta Festival 2023. The exhibition will feature an array of comic stories written and created by artists who have participated in the first two WOMCOM residencies. Organised in collaboration with WOMCOM's partner, Kino Šiška, this event within the Tinta Festival aims to foster substantial dialogues on gender issues and women's representation in the realm of comics. Moreover, it serves as a platform to empower the talented comic creators themselves.
This traveling exhibition offers a unique opportunity to explore the comics that originated during the inaugural WOMCOM residencies conducted in Serbia and Hungary. Under the guidance of recognised comics artists and curators, these artists from Serbia, Croatia, Montenegro, Hungary, Greece, and Slovenia have explored for the past weeks gender-related themes and challenges. Notably, among the contributors from Slovenia are artists Dora Kaštrun, Katarina Šeme, and Petja Kolenko.
