Georgia Zachari was born in Athens in 1994. She studied History of Art at the Athens School of Fine Arts, including two semesters of Erasmus+ at Université Paris VIII. During her university years, she focused on mediation and education, notably working as a guide at Documenta 14 in 2017.
In the same year, she began participating in comics festivals and self-publishing her work, marking a shift in her career. She initiated Smutcomic, two anthologies of erotic comics by women artists, as a way to create comics with friends and discuss female sexuality.
Her first professional work was a collaboration with Y. Gousis and P. Pantazis on "Festival," a graphic novel for the Thessaloniki International Film Festival. She then collaborated with Stella Stergiou on two adaptations of children’s books by renowned author Alki Zei: "Wildcat Under Glass" (Best Greek Comic 2022) and "The Sound of the Dragon’s Feet" (Greek IBBY award for adaptation, nominee for an EBGE in illustration, 2024). Despite the long format, all these works have been experiments in collaborative comic making.
In 2023, she worked with the organization Eyes of Light to create a comic/activity book and a webcomic for cancer patients, based on experiences shared by female cancer survivors. She also contributed to the documentary "Tack" (dir. Vania Turner, 2024), a story about the Greek #MeToo movement.
When she’s not making comics, she travels with the Meeting of Design Students, trying her hand at different kinds of design disciplines.
