RESIDENCIES

Between August 2023 and September 2024, WOMCOM offered four artist-in-residencies. Two of these were held in 2023 in Serbia and Hungary, while the other two took place in 2024 in Montenegro and Croatia. Each residency hosted twelve comic artists, selected through an open call, who spent two weeks at their respective locations. Under the guidance of renowned comic artists and curators from Europe, the artists created comic strips and works exploring gender-related themes and issues. The WOMCOM residencies provided inclusive co-working and co-creation spaces, allowing artists to collaborate with other creatives, engage in discussions on gender-related cultural perspectives, and evolve their artistic practice.
