Dragana Garić Jovičić (RS)

Dragana Garić Jovičić is a curator and art historian from Novi Sad, Serbia. She graduated from the Art History Department of the Faculty of Philosophy in Belgrade in 2006. She received the Spomen-zbirka Pavla Beljanskog Award for her graduation thesis titled "Fashion and Emancipation in Female Visual Culture in Serbia and Vojvodina at the End of the 19th and the Beginning of the 20th Century." In 2008, she completed her master's thesis on caricature during the early 20th century at the same faculty. From 2007 to 2009 she worked as a journalist and editor at the daily newspaper "Građanski list" from 2009 to 2012 she served as an art history professor at the High School for Design “Bogdan Šuput” in Novi Sad.

Since 2012, she has been a valuable member of the Museum of Vojvodina, where she works as a curator and art historian overseeing the Contemporary Art Collection of Vojvodina. She has curated several exhibitions, including "Let's Introduce Comic and Illustration to Museums!" (Museum of Vojvodina, 2015), "(Dis)Continuities: Contemporary Art in Vojvodina – Are All the Sheep Counted?!" (The Museum of Contemporary Art of Vojvodina, 2017), "Heroes Then and Now" (Museum of Vojvodina, 2021), and "Boško Petrović: Sketches for Monumental Works" (Museum of Vojvodina, 2022), among others. She has also written numerous texts for both periodicals and professional publications and catalogues.
