Zoé Nagy is an animation and graphic designer based in Budapest. She graduated from Metropolitan University Budapest in 2022 with a BA in Animation, where she created a short film titled I Want to Believe, a satire about a UFO-obsessed grandmother's everyday life. During her BA studies, from 2020 to 2021, she worked as an animator for Móra Bookr Kids Ltd., where she helped create animations based on children's books for a digital application platform.
Since then, Nagy has worked as a freelance animation and graphic designer. She is currently pursuing a master's degree in Animation at Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design in Budapest, where she is developing her next short film. In addition to animation, Nagy enjoys experimenting with other art forms, such as illustration, comics, and various printmaking techniques, which she explored in different courses throughout her studies. She has a particular interest in traditional printing techniques, which she also incorporates into her comic-making.
In 2022, an anthology comic book titled It Used to Be Easy, edited by Eszter Szép, was released in collaboration with seven other students from MOME, including Zoé. In 2023, her four-page comic Visitor won third prize at the Fumetto Comic Festival’s competition in Lucerne, Switzerland, where it was also exhibited. Zoé frequently participates in art fairs in Budapest, showcasing her artworks, prints, and zines.
