WOMCOM Exhibition at Athens Music Week in Athens (2024)

'}}

The WOMCOM exhibition took place during Athens Music Week (AMW) at the iconic Technopolis City of Athens from May 22 to 25, 2024. As part of the Women Power in Comics (WOMCOM) initiative, the exhibition featured comics created during the first two WOMCOM residencies in Serbia and Hungary. Held in Technopolis's Purifier Basement, the exhibition offered an immersive experience with thoughtfully curated works displayed in a dynamic environment. The opening reception and accompanying events highlighted how cultural exchange and creative collaboration across artistic disciplines can amplify creativity and elevate diverse voices.

In addition to the exhibition, WOMCOM organized the dynamic workshop "Where Music Meets Art", blending illustration and music. During this creative exchange, WOMCOM residents collaborated with Athens Music Week artist Ariel de Balkan to create works inspired by her music and identity, blurring the boundaries between visual art and sound. This unique collaboration emphasized gender inclusion and female empowerment in the arts while bridging the gap between the comics and music communities.
